Happy Chinese New Year

16th of Jan, i receive a basket of oranges from my bos. I had to take cab home cos the oranges are quite heavy. Later at nite, like usual we went to Sticky Rice and eat. Order this fried squid which is very very nice...

17th Jan, went to Lau Pa Sat to have brunch. Saw this stall selling Chinese New Year stuff and it was very interesting cos they put two lion head on top of the stall.Went to Far East Plaza after that, want to do some Chinese New Year shopping but so many people around. End up doing manicure instead. Ended up going to Heerens but it was late by then, most of the shop wanted to close and i saw this lady doing this cute dough things. I ask her few question about it then she ask me whether i wanted one of it or not. She gave me a pig since she make extra. The rest are for exhibition. Very very interesting and cute.

18th Jan, Edward off day. We decided to go Bugis where we wanted to have a reservation for Chinese New Year Eve at a steamboat restaurant. Too bad, when we went there, it was full and the only place available is at outside. We did not take it cos who know's it might be strong wind on the day. After that, went and have dessert at one of the dessert shop in there. The queue was long... Order my usual gingko nut dessert while Edward had the glass jelly with lychee. One funny thing happen, today Edward had a great idea of wearing his long kept black pants which looks like leather. Well it was kept for a long long time and the pants outer lining started tearing off not break. Lucky that time not alot of people around and i don't think anybody notice also. So we had to take a cab home so he could change pants again. We actually wanted to go to Chinatown but now have to go home first.
He started to peel off all the outer lining inside the cab. I ask him to stop cos he throw everything inside the cab. He continue to peel off almost everything and i tell him the cab driver will scold us.

Reach home, one side of his pants he manage to peel off. Look so funny...

19th of Jan, decided to go shopping after couldn't find any nice clothing during the weekend. Today after work meet up with Jess and we went to Heerens to shop. Before shop decided to eat and we went to NYDC. I order this meal which was very nice. Finally bought one top after going to so many places before. I find it hard to shop in here as most of the clothes doesn't suit my taste. 21st Jan.. We went and view house today. The house in Serangoon which was quite ok except the other tenants living in there put all their belongings and stuff at the living room. The room was big and spacious. After viewing the house we decided to go eat but doesn't know where to go if we take the bus. We just decided to take the mrt to Dhoby Ghaut and eat at Swensen's. I had this Chicken Chop with Rice thing and fruit salad. Jess waited for quite long cos her order was wrong. After that, waited for Edward to finish work and we had Starbucks ice blended again. Totally into it lately.

22nd Jan, today my bos and his wife decided to bring me out for lunch to celebrate Chinese New Year in advance. We went to Liang Court in Clarke Quay and eat at Shin Yeh Restaurant. A Taiwanese restaurant chain, the foods are pretty expensive but nice.

23rd Jan, my office are doing Spring cleaning. Major clean up, spent most of the afternoon cleaning up my desk and around the office. Throwing out all the old and unused items. My bos told me i can go back early today, well 10 minutes early only. Edward finish work early today and i went down and meet him. We decided to go out and eat and enjoy ourselves. Went to Da Pai Dang for dinner, his friend introduce this place to him. It's in the Central in Clarke Quay. Quite hard to find... The place look interesting with bird cage hanging around and painting in the wall.We order mixed vegetablesBlack Chicken SoupPork with Yamand steamed fish... Dinner was nice, just the place is too deserted. After eat, we went and walk around. Edward manage to buy a shoe and i bought a bag and a top. While we were walking on the 1st floor, saw this huge lion on the ground floor. The huge lion head. They actually perform it with six peoples carrying it.
The smaller one. Now it likes really look small.
After taking photo with the lion head, we walk outside and sit at the steps and watching people trying out the bungee's things right across. We decided to try the Japanese ice-cream and have a walk around. The ice-cream cones is square in shape and it taste pretty good. I eat little only since i had a little cold and itchy nose which has been bothering me this past few days. It's really irritating cos it's itchy and i can't sneeze it out.
While walking and eating the ice-cream, we saw this stall selling swim suits. I keep browsing and finding for quite some times and end up didn't buy. We decided to walk further up and had a drink at one of the outlets nearby. I had Coke since i couldn't consume alchohol. Doesn't dare to try it, how know i ended up with itchiness again.
Close of shots of us. We sit and enjoy ourselves until pretty late at nite. Tomorrow Edward had to work again but late in the afternoon and i decided to come back to The Central again to shop since most of the shops close just now.
24th Jan, we went back to the Central and had our brunch at Java Dream. It's a small and cosy shop. They play all the songs that Edward had in his car and right after Trisha Yearwood 'How Do I Live' song, i ask him to guess what's the next song, he just casually mention 'I Finally Found Someone' and it's the correct one. I was stuck and surprise at that moment. There are millions and millions of song and he can guess the correct one, that's pretty hard.
The setting at the shop. They sell some of the stuff at the cabinet. We just woke up shot.
I had Egg Sandwich and Lavender tea. My first time trying it and it tastes very rich in flavor. Something like drinking shower gel.
After having our brunch, we decided to go take pic with the lion head again. Last nite, we couldn't take both of our shots together, now Jess with us, so we ask her.
Close up shot...
After doing our shopping, me and Jess. We went to Edward workplace to wait for him. As usual, i order a Pussyfoot. Quite nice. We went to Marina Square after The Central and Liang Court. It was a very very tiring day, we went to Marina Square with the free shuttle bus and using the same shuttle bus to go back to Clarke Quay cos Jess wanted to buy a swim suits. We decided to go to Wild Wild Wet tomorrow. I didn't bought any since i did bring mine over. My feet was very very pain by then, i guess cos i used the wrong footwear.
25th Jan, Chinese New Year Eve and we going to Wild Wild Wet. Usually back at home, we will be busy decorating. When i was young, i remember following my mum and grandma to the market as early as 5.30am and it was full of people.

We took bus, mrt and bus again. On the way there, it was drizzling and i was hoping it stop. It will be waste of time if it's raining. At nite later, we have to go dinner in Jing Restaurant in One Fullerton. A classy restaurant i think. We had reservation at 8.30pm, the second dinner course. Dinner cost 85 per person, dinner must be great.

While waiting for bus. It took so long...

At the entrance, my feet still hurt since yesterday. After buying the tickets, we decided to go try the Fish & Co Express, food was late and not so nice. Shouldn't have try it but most of the shop are close cos it's Chinese New Year eve.

Finish eating, we went and change. I look so fat, my tummy is bulging out. We play a few things. I'm afraid of heights so kind of reluctant at first. We went and try out the wave thing first. It was very funny cos i have to hold tight to Jess or else we float in different direction. It just wave actually... and alot of people. After the wave like slow down, we went and try out the River thing. Just relax and the water flow along. While doing that, we saw alot of people trying out the slide thing with the big buoy. We went up a flight of stairs and it's pretty damn cold. We waited for awhile cos the queue was long. We shared the ride with two small girl... After that, i wanted to try the Skyrider. Big big mistake. Me and Jess totally freak out at that cos we are afraid of heights. At the moment, i ride it, i regret it. Me and Jess was finding alot of things to concentrate to get rid of our fear. Ed had to ride alone, no choice and he was totally enjoying the view. We get whistle by the park crew again cos we were slow. I thought we were riding it fast... After doing the skyride thing, i suddenly decided to try the slide up ride. It's for two people and i think about 4 storey high. So scary but i didn't shout, i talk to Ed instead. Very hilarous cos the worker thought we try this ride alot of time already. I asked Jess whether she wanted to try it or not, she doesn't want. We went and enjoy the jacuzzi instead for awhile then went for the wave thing again. This time couldn't hang on to Jess cos the current too big. We pretty much try out alot of things and decided to take pic. Went to the locker and took out the camera.

In the kid playing area After taking few shots, we decided to try the kid slide. The only slide i dare to do...
We suddenly decided to try the slide down thing again to catch the perfect shot. The first time not really nice cos there were two other kids around and we were not ready for the camera.
Finish a day of fun... Now have to go home and get ready for our small reunion dinner.

We reach home around seven something, not in time to bath but i did bath in there already. Change and dress up really fast... We reach around there like 30mins early and took some nice pic while walking to there.

While walking there...
When we reach there, the table are being set up cos we are the second sitting. Waited awhile. We had the Corals set cos it's minimum for 2 person. As for the other set, it's 4 person and above. The name sounded nice but doesn't know how's the food taste like. Ikan Parang Lo Hei
Waiting for the waitress...
Took alot of pic cos the worker are so slow to attend to us...
Video of us tossing together...

The end result after tossing...

I don't really like it...

Waiting for the next dish again. Apparently the people clean up the plate very fast as if rushing us.
The Menu of the food.

Crispy Duck with Green Salad accompanied with Fried Oyster in Spice Salt. The duck tasted so nice, i cannot get enough of it. The oyster was really nice too. Too bad only one piece.

Double-boiled Shark's Fin soup with Seafood served in a Golden Pumpkin. The soup tasted so rich and nice. The shark fin was really big piece again. I suppose we should feel bad drinking this cos the shark are going extinct soon but this tasted so nice.

Braised South Africa Abalone with Homemade Beancurd and Garden Green in Oyster Sauce. This one tasted nice too. We eat it so slowly to savour the taste.

Stewed Boston Lobster Noodles with Ginger and Spring Onions. I don't really like this. The lobster tasted nice but the noodles tasted bland.

Haha, just eat the lobster only.

Chilled Puree of Mango with Sago and Pomelo accompanied with Traditional Brown Sugared Glutinous Flour Cake. The Mango with sago tasted so nice. I want to go back and eat again. Word cannot describe how it tasted like...

The Traditional Brown Sugared Glutinous Flour Cake. It's tasted very rich in coconut not like the usual we buy in the market. We were so full after the meal even though the potion comes small.

After eating and paying the bill, we still get two oranges and few vouchers from them again. While having our meal just now, we manage to call back home. Everybody was busy and also having their dinner. We went to the floating Hong Pao to have a walk. So many people around and the decor was nice.

At the entrance...

The God Of Wealth. It's very big. There's this performance of troupe from China who plays acrobatic stuff at the stage. We only get a glimpse of it.

Cherry Blossom. It's fake, wish it was real.

The peacock. Alot of people actually wanted to take pic with this peacock and we were lucky to take pic without anybody disturbing or walking around.

The gazebo. It's to bright with too much light.

The huge ox. Both of us are also born in the year of ox. Maybe that's why we are both very stubborn.

The terracota warrior but Edward say it was the chess game set soldier.

Me & Jess under the twinkling light, so pretty...

In Chinatown for the Chinese New Year countdown.. So many people queue up to take pic with this huge gold.

The video of the countdown with firecrackers and fireworks again... So nice and exciting. I was so surprise when the firecrackers started..
